Hello everyone,

First of all I apologise for posting something of this sort on this forum but its really urgent. I have taken all the 4 courses with Becker and was in the process of preparing for the exams. Suddenly a few activities of my husband came to my notice like shoplifting, lying, misusing my funds, physically and verbally abusing me, marriage to someone else and absolutely no emotional support to me ...

I have initiated a divorce which is in processing and I have custody of my 5 year old little boy..I would like to hear from people going through divorce or separations or even other experienced people...that after such a major tragedy, how can one come back to normal and successfully pass the CPA exams?

I am on the verge of a nervous breakdown and getting thoughts of suicide. I'd really appreciate some help on how to deal with this situation.

Thank you very much !

Well... suicide is not the solution for sure... but you should have thought about everything before marrying a person like that.

Hi Jesse25!!!

I don't want to sound that I'm preaching, but this is the time to throw things to God. Prayers and meditation from the bible is better than any marriage counselor in this world.

Be thankful that you are alive and have son to appreciate. Many people are sick and dying of cancer and will surely accept your position just to be alive. Many women wants to have kids but they are not blessed to have one, and I'm sure if only they can replace your position as a mother they will. I know with all the bad things happened to you it's hard to appreciate life.. but look at small things that other people doesn't have. You will feel blessed. Good things will come out from bad ones. Be positive.

Let it rain.. but stay strong. Soon the rain will be over and being a CPA is just around the corner waiting for you when you're ready again. Don't give up. I'm a mother too and I can feel the pain you're going through.

Pray, pray.. God is not deaf not to hear your plea.

â€śDraw close to God, and he will draw close to you.” -James 4:8

Do not be anxious over anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication along with thanksgiving let YOUR petitions be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God that excels all thought will guard YOUR hearts and YOUR mental powers by means of Christ Jesus. - Philippians 4:6-7

Totally agree with SourPatch; beautifully said! you need to stop and appreciate all that you do have like your health and your little boy. Obtaining your CPA will be the icing on the cake for all the good things that you DO HAVE in your life. Your motivation to achieve the CPA should be in overdrive now. For me, I quit my job when I had my baby boy (now 18 months) and I know that when I do go back to work, it needs to be a darn good paying job that is well worth my time in order for me to leave him in daycare. He is my motivation for getting my CPA (which I gave up on in 2005 after 6 failures). You can get through this!!

Jesse25-

I pray that you don't give up.  I understand that times are tough right now, stay encouraged and know that God answers prayers.

In the end, the struggles that you're going through will make it all worth it.
