Hi all,
I wrote earlier in the thread about my expereince with the exam. I am happy to say that I found out this morning that I passed! I got an 89 and I am very giddy and smiley right now.
My takeaways from BEC:
1) Create a formula sheet. I did this the second time around looking at the lectures. Whenever I came across a formula, I'd write it down on my notepad (since the sheet turned into 17 pages of formulas). Later that notepad became the best part of my final review. Since it covered every formula in the book, it was a quick and dirty review of all the topics. It was what I looked at in the car right before I stepped into the test center.
2) Do some research on COSO and IT on your own. These topics are more challenging on the exam. Do yourself a favor and don't rely on your study material solely. Be proactive and do some additional reading. That helped me greatly!
3) Don't undermine this exam. BEC comes across as an "easier" section when compared to FAR or REG. Believe me, don't assume you can "trick" the exam by not putting in a good effort preparing for this section. Do what is required to make you feel comfortable with the material and you probably will be rewarded with a passing grade.
Good luck to all of you!
